Welcome Home Blessing

I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to ALL of our church family who surprised us as we got home this Saturday from a few days visiting with family. Let me fill you all in on how we were blessed.

Our home is circa 1890 and was a Multi-Family unit that we converted back to a single family when we purchased it in 2005. As you can imagine with our daily schedule of homeschooling, working from home, cleaning, laundry, and kids playing, we hadn’t gotten around to do much “remodeling”.

Well, we were so blessed and surprise on Saturday when we pulled into the driveway with Jon’s brother’s family. Jamie was going to be preaching at our church like a pulpit exchange with our pastor who was staying in Jamie’s house and giving the message to their church family. I was surprised to see a beautiful pot of pansies on the porch, a new wreath and an nice new Welcome Home flag. I have kept my eyes open for one just like this but hadn’t been able to find one. It looks just like our house with the yellow trim and everything! Wow! I was already in tears!

We walked in and it looked vacuumed more than I had left it. I even thought it might have been shampooed because it smelled different. I walked into the Dining Room and found a note on the table with a Penguin toy saying “While you were gone, we were busy. Signed, the Penguin” I thought that our friends who fed the fish must have straightened up a bit because they knew we were having family in. Well, the next thing I heard was my oldest saying, “The stairs are finished! And it is painted.” I went to the bottom of the stairs and couldn’t believe it! All the holes and wallpaper was repaired and there was a fresh coat of paint finishing the stairs! We were welcomed with a sign that said our church family loved us! We were blown away! It was such an amazing welcome home, we will not forget. THANK YOU CHURCH!!!!! It was such a real practical way that showed us how much our Savior loves and cares for us.

That was not all that happened this week. Wednesday, the day before we left I was blessed by a family in church that surprised me and watched the kids, took them to the park for a picnic lunch and allowed me to go out on my own for a few hours to buy a maternity outfit! That’s right! We are expecting #5! The Lord is faithful and will provide for all that he has MADE (or is making)! I praise God for his care and provision. I was in a place that He knew I needed to see (In A BIG WAY) how much he cares for our family. I thank all of those involved. You know we want to figure out who actually were involved in all of this to personally say thank you, but know we know that it was the Holy Spirit that prompted your hearts to serve us!! Thanks again.

P.S. I will go to the Doctor’s this week and we will see when our little one is expected to grace the world. I am guessing it will be near my birthday in December. That would be a great present!
